All about grasslands

Grasslands are areas where the vegetation is dominated by grasses; however, sedge and rush families can also be found along with variable proportions of legumes, like clover, and other herbs. Grassland occur naturally on all continents except Antarctica. Grassland are found in most eco-regions of the earth.


Climate

Temperate grassland have hot summers and cold winters. Summer temperatures can be well over hundred degrees fahrenheit, my winter temperatures can be low as -40° fahrenheit. They typically have between 10 and 35 inches of precipitations year, much of it occurring in the late spring and early summer.


Location
